  Udaipur has a funny way of making you feel like you’ve stepped into a painting. The "City of Lakes" is famous for its shimmering waters and massive palaces, but if you really want to feel the soul of Rajasthan, you have to get away from the big, corporate hotels. On my last trip, I went looking for a place that felt more like a home and less like a lobby. That’s how I stumbled upon Udai Kothi . Located on the quieter side of the lake, it’s a stunning, white-washed retreat that feels like a secret kept by those who truly know the city.   Architecture That Breathes History The first thing you’ll notice about Udai Kothi is that it looks like it’s been there for centuries, even though it’s a relatively modern boutique build.
